Welcome to the TUC tag page on Gauteng News Hub. Here you’ll get fresh posts about trade unions, labour protests, policy changes and anything that matters to workers across Africa. We pull together stories from football fields to political corridors because union issues touch every corner of life.
Our latest collection includes a mix of sports and politics that have a clear link to labour or worker impact. For example, the article on Air Tanzania’s new Johannesburg flights shows how airlines create jobs and boost regional trade. The piece about Ford and Lincoln recalls highlights safety concerns for workers on the production line. Even football stories like Real Betis’ win mention contract talks that affect club staff.
Each post is short, clear and packed with the facts you need. You’ll see headlines such as “West Africa Faces New Reality as Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger Split From ECOWAS,” which explores how regional politics can shift labour agreements. Another read, “Ghana Set to Host Crucial World Cup Qualifier,” touches on stadium staffing and tourism‑driven employment.
Staying updated on union news helps you understand the forces shaping wages, job security and social policies. Whether you work in a factory, run a small business or just want to know what’s happening in your community, our TUC tag gives you direct access to relevant information.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have announced an indefinite strike from June 3, 2024. The strike aims to push the government to reassess the minimum wage and the recent hike in electricity tariffs. The decision follows increased economic strain from policies introduced by President Bola Tinubu, including the removal of fuel subsidies.
